The First Tee Junior Golf Program

The First Tee after school programs teach more than just golf skills.The First Tee organization began introducing the game of golf in 1997. Today, First Tee has implemented after-school programs and youth classes that have taught life-values and healthy habits to 6.5 million youth through the game of golf.

With over 10,000 active volunteers and 4,800 elementary schools offering a First Tee National School Program during the 2012-2013 school year, according to their website, The First Tee has made an impact on millions of lives.

A recent independent research study led by the University of Minnesota’s Dr. Maureen Weiss led an investigation into the product of The First Tee Nine Core Values. The study produced positive results, indicating that 73% reported high academic confidence, 82% felt confident in social experiences with peers, and 57% credited First Tee for their meeting and greeting skills.
