LPGA goes to the Bahamas

Golf ball on the beachThe Ladies Professional Golf Association announced today the addition of the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic to the 2013 tour schedule. The tournament will be full-field, standard eligibility, and include four tournament rounds with 72 holes of stroke play, a $1.3 million purse and coverage by leading sports news stations, according to the LPGA website.

“This event is a great example of truly fantastic partners coming together to stage a world-class event,” LPGA Commissioner Michael Whan told the LPGA. “To say the players are excited would be a huge understatement.”

The Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic will be held May 23 through 26 of this year on Atlantis Paradise Island at the Ocean Club Golf Course in the Bahamas.
