According to, with the help of an eight-shot lead through the last day of play on Monday, Woods closed with a final round score of 72 — four shots ahead of the field.

"I'm excited the way I played all week," Woods told the PGA. "I hit the ball well -- pretty much did everything well and built myself a nice little cushion. I had some mistakes at the end, but all my good play before that allowed me to afford those mistakes."

This marks the seventh time that Woods has won at Torrey Pines, and the 23rd time he has won a tournament by at least four shots on the PGA Tour.

Due to thick fog, play at the Farmers Open was suspended on Saturday, forcing a Monday finish. Slow play was an issue for all players to contend with towards the end, according to the PGA, and may have been a cause of Woods’ two bogeys and one double bogey in the final four holes.
